Satisfaction

I don’t know if the happy elderly people or this e-mail made my day. (And it’s only 1 p.m. How blessed am I?) I hope my friend Tracie won’t mind me sharing it. But really. They say one vote can make a difference. Well, if one voter’s voice can influence others to vote, how much more difference can that make? Of course, you all know I am voting for Kerry, but in the end, I don’t care who you vote for. Just VOTE! We are undeniably lucky to live in a country that allows this right and freedom. I consider it our responsibility to take advantage of it.

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for getting me interested in voting. I have never really cared that much, and actually even used to complain about voting. I hated the fact that it seemed as though our votes didn’t really matter, so I figured what was the point? But, seeing how passionate you are about the issue has made me realize I was being stupid. Why waste my right and voice? Why shouldn’t I be interested in political issues and what is going on around me? You have made me realize that even though I am only one minnow in a pool of billions, when I stand up with the other minnows that share my opinions, I have made them once voice stronger. So…Thank You.

  1. Glad I could help make your day good! :)

Yeah, we took the babies. The rally was great. And I will say it again, “I am an independent.” I have voted in presidential elections twice before: Nader in ’96, Bush in ’00 and I will vote for Kerry in ’04. I offer no allegiance to any political group. I thought Kerry kicked the crap out of Bush in the debates. That sealed it for me. A good PBS special ‘Frontline’ helped also. So anyway, there you go.
