It's Official

Mr. Binder,

I regret to inform you that due to a variety of personal consequences, I will be vacating your property, Apt. 3, within the the next calendar month.

I intend to move to Chicago to attend familial duties and seek new paths. I will be living with my sister and her husband as they welcome their 3rd child. All three children will be under age 2 1/2!!

It’s a sad and exciting time for me. I will keep you informed as I know the exact date the apt. will be empty. I did not have a formal lease with Mr. Stankus- just a handwritten note dating our move-in, cost of rent and deposit, which was $375. I hope to obtain all or most of the deposit per your approval of the state of my apartment. I believe it to be quite satisfactory after over six years of inhabitance.

Thank you for all you have done, especially the new refridgerator (years ago), the new windows (best of all), and your persmission to let me garden — and the recompense for my work. That was greatly appreciated! (FYI- I recently trimmed all the bushes out front.)

Please call to inform me as to how to proceed, as I intend to leave approx. mid-month. Is it possible to pay 3/4 of the rent perhaps? This would help me out in a time of need and give you a jumpstart on preparing the apartment for someone new. I may even be able to refer someone for the place. I plan to show it to a couple of people I know who are looking. With any luck, you’ll find someone trustworthy without having to interview. And I hope to find someone to water my flowers and tomato plant out back.

P.S. I’ll leave my air conditioner window unit for a few more dollars. It’s currently in the bedroom. The apt. had nothing when I moved in. The unit isn’t new, but it works well. Maybe $50?
