In and Out
There’s nothing like walking in the door of the temp agency and walking out 45 minutes later with a job.
I thought I’d be waiting for weeks to get placed. When I talked to the woman at the closest of the five Office Team offices in the St. Louis area, she said she had 22 people to call back. Today, she told me that her office alone handles 291 people (I think that’s what she said anyway).
But it must have been a right-place-at-the-right-time sort of deal. I hadn’t even finished filling out my tax information when she stuck her head in the door and said, “So are you still unpacking or could you work tomorrow?” I said, “I AM still unpacking, but I WILL work tomorrow!”
I’m still shocked. There’s a lot I still have to do – like finish unpacking and start applying for more “real” jobs. But I couldn’t have asked for a more prompt turn around!
All I know is that it’s general office work at a place that sells medical supplies. It could be a week or three. They’ll be looking for someone to fill the position permanently. It’s supposed to be a small, laid-back office… primarily casual. Cool. I’ll go check it out!
